Waxfang HEALTH + M.O.P. blend
Just figured I’d toss this up here as a teaser for a 34 minute, cassette-only mixtape release I’m working on. As sort of a mini-homage to DJ Shadow’s Diminishing Returns, side A will be all hip-hop, and side B will be more focused on rare rock/psych cuts.
I threw together an on-the-fly blend of HEALTH’s new single, “Die Slow” combined with M.O.P.’s “Ante Up.” I was pretty much Girl Talk’ing it on the turntables through the 17 minutes per side I had to work with, so I only used about a single verse/chorus of this. Since metal-on-metal space disco and Lil Fame yapping about robbing people played off each other so well, I couldn’t just leave it be, and finished out the rest of the track for anyone who wants it.
