Doyo’s music is a mix of pumping beats, Ragga samples, Carioca stabs, funky percussion, synthesizers, and hard house beats. Doyo spinned for a couple of years as Turk Disco in is his native town of Stockholm/Sweden. Together with Marcus Price (Palms Out), Carli from Savage Skulls (Mad Decent), Mapei (Downtown Records), Johanna Beckman and Top Nice they formed the dj collective Eros Video. In 2008 Doyo left Sweden and started traveling around Asia. Bring- ing his laptop, he made a name for himself as Turk Disco on dance music blogs with tracks like his remix of Sister Nancy’s “Bam Bam” and his Balkan pumper“Balagan”. Now with this new project called Doyo he is diving into the world of house music but still staying true too his roots as Bmore, Juke, Kuduro, Baile Funk, Dj in the good old days in Stockholm. In 2010 he moved to Brooklyn where he now lives.SIDEKICK
This first track from Doyo blends some old school rave vibes with crynky bmore kick patterns, hard synthesizers, bubbling brakes and a vocal sample from Blaqstarr’s classic track Hands Up Thumps Down. This is a track that builds up the suspence and gives djs that extra edge when the crowd is screaming for more. Some tropical grooves, house kicks, crunk stabs and 808 claps makes sure not to disapoint. Sidekick is mayhem. -
