DJ Cable “The Mash Down Vol. 3″ (Mixtape)
So after a few months of waiting, the third installment of the “Mash Down” series is finally here for your listening pleasure! First up, thanks to everyone who supported and downloaded Volume 2. If you’re new to the blog, or have simply missed out, you can still grab it HERE
This time around, I’ve gone in with a mixture of Dubstep, Grime, Bassline/UK Garage, and some Southern Hip Hop from the likes of Crissy Criss, High Rankin, Rusko, Joker, Emalkay, Ruff Squad, Tempz, Bonecrusher, David Banner and more. The selection is pretty upfront and aggressive (sprinkled with a couple of classic anthems too), as I wanted to make this pretty hype from start to finish.

DJ Cable Vs. Tempa T & Rusko “Mr. Muscle’s Hype”
It’s been a while since I hit you with a blend, or a mixtape for that matter…But have no fear, here’s something to keep you occupied before “The Mash Down Vol. 3″ drops next month.
Anyhow, whilst sorting out the tracklisting for the forthcoming mix, I came up with this as an idea for a transition between these two tracks. I made a DIY acapella of Tempa T’s (aka Tempz) Grime anthem “Next Hype” (seeing as the studio acapella only got leaked to a couple of DJs) which came out near perfect, and used part of it over Rusko’s banger “Mr. Muscle”…In my opinion, it worked so well that I decided to make a full Thugstep blend out of it.

DJ Cable Guest Mix on BBC Asian Network
Hello all, just a quick post to let you all know that this past Wednesday, I had a guest mix aired on DJ Kayper’s show on BBC Asian Network, as part of the Hype “Mixtape Challenge”.
For those that don’t know, each week Kayper does the “Mixtape Challenge” on her show, where she challenges a DJ to fit 3 or 4 Desi tracks into a 15 minute mix of any genre; be it cutting them up, remixing/re-editing them, etc…In other words, you gotta be creative!
Previous DJs who’ve taken up the challenge include Crookers, MJ Cole, DJ Craze & DJ Yoda, so I knew I had to step my game up! So as a result, this mix showcases a lot more scratching, a whole mixture of genres, and some re-editing which I’ve done in Ableton. I hope you enjoy it!
Oh, there’s also a brief interview with me at the start too…You can all witness how…erm…monotone/quiet I am lol…

Have to admit, this one started out kinda slow, and you almost lost me. Definitely picked up at around the fifteen minute mark though!
