    B-Rad & Phinatik – Best of Both Sides (Pittsburgh and Philly) 

    I know this site isn’t huge for hip-hop but I still know it’s appreciated, and I had to get these guys on here.

    These guys have an interesting story. A young producer from Philadelphia (Phinatik) and a rapper from Pittsburgh (B-Rad) happened to end up going to the same school and ended up doing a whole album together (Best of Both Sides), which they recorded in a spare dorm room and put up for free download on the internet.

    I’m not used to debuts being any good, but between the fresh new approach to beatmaking and the concious, digestible lyrics these guys are a strange exception. The whole album is pretty dope but

    “Perfect Timing” (chilled-out and melodic with a catchy hook),

    “Round Round” (fast-paced and techno inspired in a 2/4 time signature),

    “Hot-Stop-Drop-Roll” (reckless club banger with big drums) and

    “Shine Through” (slightly more sentimental ballad with Pachabel’s string melody and a harmonized chorus)

    really stuck out to me.

      Not self promoting here, there is a firefox plug-in called “skipscreen” that skips the wait on zshare, works on some other file hosters as well. Cheers.

    Love My Lolli – ELECTROCRUNK VOL. 1 

    So I saw the “Shake”/”I Love My Sex” mashup and my initial thoughts were, “Damn. Someone beat me to it.” But I did make it a while ago I’ll post it. It’s one of many of the mashups/remixes that will be featured on my mixtape Electrocrunk Vol. 1 which should be done and up for download by the end of February. Anyway, enjoy “Love My Lolli”, a mashup of “Lolli Lolli” by Three 6 Mafia and “I Love My Sex” by Benny Benassi.

    So when the Phillies won the World Series it was a very happy time full of celebration here in Philadelphia. Some celebrated by drinking themselves to near-death experiences, others by tipping cars. I sat down and made a remix of second basemen Chase Utley’s controversial speech in which is stated (in case it wasn’t as big news in other areas), “World Champions. World F***ing Champions!” on live television.

    Hope you enjoy it no matter who you root for.
